At Day Tool & Mfg, our rapid prototyping capabilities include the production of ABS prototypes up to 10” in length, 10” in width, and 10” in height. Using 3D printing technology, we can produce visual or functional prototypes in a variety of colors. The ability to produce parts in multiple colors is not only beneficial for aesthetics, but allows designers to visualize the different components of an assembly interacting to gain a better understanding of the overall mechanics in a system. Rapid prototyping is a fast and efficient way to prove out designs prior to investment in full scale production tooling. In addition, 3D printing can be used to produce production ready parts in low quantities, which eases the challenges associated with the lead time required to develop manufacturing tooling.
